Once in a while, as an architect, you are asked to dream. These are the projects that enable the designer to push the boundaries of design, whilst keeping the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the design in mind. The Vaal River City Project was one project that enabled me to imagine a mixed-use development around the Vaal Dam.

Not the winning proposal, however, the chance to think at that scale was an exciting opportunity. I continue to collaborate with others on projects that push design and architecture in the country.
